Innovative Support for Rising Leaders
Written by Julie Goldstein
Helping organizations create more social impact sometimes means developing more impactful leaders. That’s why SWAHA Foundation is taking a different grantmaking approach with the organizations they support, by investing directly in the development of their young leaders.
This October, twelve rising leaders from some of SWAHA’s Grantee Partners will attend Opportunity Collaboration through grants from the Swaha Foundation. Instead of these organizations having to take from their operating budget to fund this leadership development, SWAHA will pay their way to spend four days learning how to better lead their organization to do greater work on the ground. They’ll hear about best practices from peer organizations, develop partnership opportunities, and collaborate on innovative ideas with other mission-driven leaders.
This direct funding of leadership development is something we haven’t seen done by too many other foundations, and we are so excited to see the new ideas and skills these young leaders gain through this unique collaborative gathering sponsored by many social impact visionaries such as the Skoll Foundation, Global Fund for Women, Impact Capital Forum, and humbly yours, the SWAHA Foundation.
