Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center is centered around interdisciplinary teams of world-renowned scientists and humanitarians who work together to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer, HIV/AIDS and other diseases. Their researchers — including three Nobel laureates — bring a relentless passion to their work and deliver hope to patients who go there for treatment from all over the world. Fred Hutch is actively discovering and researching how to prevent cancers from developing in the first place.

The Family Assistance Fund at Fred Hutch was created to help cancer patients who qualify for financial help with some of those additional personal expenses that arise because they are in treatment. It covers non-medical expenses — from groceries to gas to housing — and makes it possible for patients to let go of some of the financial worry so they can focus on their care.

Swaha Foundation carries forth a strong legacy in supporting people who are fighting cancer and undergoing treatments. We have witnessed, first hand, the myriad of ways Cancer patients in treatment need direct financial support to help them pay their bills, mortgages, take care of their children, buy food, and so on, when they are unable to work.

Swaha believes that everyone has a right to cancer treatment regardless of their socioeconomic status and/or financial capabilities, and has a long history of this type of human investment.
