Amazon Watch works to protect the rainforest and advance the rights of Indigenous peoples in the Amazon Basin. The Amazon is the world’s largest terrestrial carbon sink and plays a critical role in regulating the global climate. They partner with Indigenous and environmental organizations to campaign for human rights, corporate accountability, and the preservation of the Amazon’s ecological systems. Amazon Watch’s work is highly additional to the fight to save this ecosystem and center Indigenous voices, as seen through the influence that they have had on the actions of powerful extractive players.
